Primary 1 Math: Number Bonds Using 10 as an example

Let’s use the following as an example on how to form number bonds:

10 blocks can be split in many ways. One way is to split it into 6 and 4:

Block of 10 can be split into 6 and 4. Hence, we can form a number bond: 6 and 4 makes 10.

Hence, we can write a number bond for 10 this way:

From the above number bond, we can form the following relationships:

6 + 4 = 10

4 + 6 = 10

10 – 4 = 6

10 – 6 = 10
