When we express A as a percentage of B, we’ll take \( \frac{A}{B} \times 100\% \)
Hence, we will have values more than 100% when B> A.
Example
When something grows beyond its original size, the new amount is more than 100% of the original.
Example:
A population grows from 5,000 to 6,500.
The new population size = 6500/5000 x 100% = 130% of the original
