What is MF27 Formula List
The MF27 List of Formula and Results is an official reference sheet provided during H1, H2, and H3 Mathematics exams in the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level examinations. This list contains mathematical formulas, identities, and constants that students are allowed to refer to during the exam.
The MF27 replaces the MF26 list used in previous exams. The new list does not include Trigonometric identity (factor formula) which is no longer in the syllabus. The statistical tables are also no longer there (as students use the graphic calculator instead to obtain these values, anyway).
This sheet is designed to reduce the need for rote memorization and to support students in applying key mathematical concepts effectively under exam conditions.
What is Found in MF27 Formula List
Here are the details of the Formula List (excluding front – page 1 and back cover – page 8):
- Page 2: Algebraic Series and Partial Fractions Decomposition:
- Page 3: Trigonometry Identities, Principal Values, Derivatives
- Page 4: Integrals, Vectors, Application of Definite Integrals, Function of 2 variables
- Page 5: Numerical Methods, Standard Discrete Distribution, Standard Continuous Distribution
- Page 6: Sampling and Testing, Regression and Correlation, Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test
- Page 7: Mathematical Results AM-GM Inequality, Cauchy- Schwarz inequality, Triangle Inequality, Inclusion- Exclusion Principle
MF27 For the exam
Whether you are taking the H1, H2 or H3 A Level Math and H2 Further Math exam, you will be given the same List of Formula and Results – MF27.
Using the MF27 Formula List Effectively for your Exam
Here are tips to help you use MF 27 Formula List effectively!
Familiarize Early – Don’t wait until exam day. Practice using the MF27 sheet during your mock papers and revision sessions. The items in the list are formula you do not need to memorize. Just know where they are in the list and refer to them in the exam.
How to use them – Understand how to apply the formulae.
Since MF27 is used for Further Math, as well as H1, H2 and H3 A Level Math, this means that not all formulae may be needed for your syllabus. Be familiar with which ones you need to use.
